Urban road traffic noise on human exposure assessment using geospatial technology

نویسندگان

چکیده

The sounds produced by humans, industries, transport and animals in the atmosphere that pose a threat to health of humans or can be characterized as noise pollution. Adverse effects due exposure involve speech communication interference declining learning skills children. Highway traffic contributes 80% all noise. It has grown massive scale because growth population along roads leading rapid change land use evolved into common reality various Indian cities. main objective this work is develop road prediction model using ArcGIS 10.3 for busy corridors Chennai. collected data includes volume, speed, level lateral vertical directions. Noise levels were measured 9 locations meter. observed vary from 50 dB 96 dB. found problem severe 18% area, 6.3% people are exposed problem. results obtained study show city affected pollution traffic.

Association of Road Traffic Noise Exposure and Driving Behaviors

Background: The noise caused by traffic is an increasingly prominent feature of urban environments. However, limited studies have been focused on the assessment of exposure-response relationship between road traffic noise exposure and driving behaviors in Iran. The present study aimed to investigate the prevalence of the violations caused by road traffic noise exposure in Qazvin, Iran. Methods...

road traffic noise model

background : the recognition of road traffic noise as one of the main sources of environmental pollution has led to develop models that enable to predict noise level from fundamental variables. traffic noise prediction models are required as aids for designing roads and highways. in addition, sometimes are used in the assessment of existing or envisaged changes in traffic noise conditions. in t...

Urban road-traffic noise and blood pressure in school children

Blood pressure regulation might be disturbed during a long term exposure to noise through the raise of circulatory stress hormones: adrenaline, nor-adrenaline and cortisol (Maschke et al. 2000). Several epidemiological studies have shown that roadtraffic noise might increase the risk of arterial hypertension (RR between 1.5 and 3.0) in adults who live in areas with daytime average sound pressur...

Road Traffic Noise Exposure in Gothenburg 1975–2010

Traffic noise exposure within a city varies over time and space. In this study, we developed a modified noise calculation method and used this method together with population and traffic data to estimate the time trend of noise exposure for the population in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 1975 to 2010. The noise calculation method was based on the standard Nordic method for road traffic noise with mo...
